It seems like a lot of couples from the US come to the Canadian Rockies for their honeymoons! Banff, Canmore, Jasper, and really anywhere in the mountains in Alberta are so beautiful for a trip like that. Meagan reached out to me about doing honeymoon photos in Banff, after she and Konner got married in Texas. She told me that each day of their honeymoon, they were surprising each other with something. I thought that was such a cool idea! Her one surprise was to do this photoshoot.
Again, with typical spring, mountain weather, we had to change a few plans. Our original thought was to do the session at Bow Lake, along the Icefields Parkway in Banff. However, when I went out there to scope it out the week prior, there was still waist deep snow. So we changed the location to Two Jack Lake in Banff.
I had recommended to Meagan that we do the session early in the morning for best light. Well did Banff ever show off for Konner and Meagan that morning! It was absolutely still. There was not a breath of wind, and the reflections in the water were crisp and perfect. The sun came up during our session, but stayed behind the mountains, causing the most stunning golden glow on the water. I couldn’t believe it how good the light was!
We took photos around Two Jack for a bit, and then drove down to a more open spot with Rundle Mountain as the background. It was a perfect morning for honeymoon photos in Banff. If you are honeymooning in the Rockies in Canada, I’d highly recommend doing this too!
If you’d like to book a honeymoon session in Banff, please do reach out! I love meeting people from all over the world!
And if you’re looking for a good breakfast spot afterwards, Rocky Mountain Bagel Co in Canmore is amazing!
