It was the day after hiking Mt. Temple that I had this mountain top engagement session. We donned our headlamps and started out in the dark, noticing there was a group ahead of us already! It’s not too many times you meet anyone else on a mountain at 4am. We soon caught up and overtook them, and continued on our way up to the ridge. I was expecting to be quite tired and sore from the previous day’s big hike, but fortunately I hardly felt it!
Every single one of my clients always comment on how sweaty they get while hiking, and not sure what to do about it when they get to the summit for the photos! I will assure you, it has never been a problem yet. I’d recommend bringing some touch up makeup and even putting your hair in a claw clip for the hike. If you’ve had it styled beforehand, this really helps it hold the curls/waves.
It was a cloudy morning, so we didn’t get a ton of colour for this sunrise engagement session. The clouds, however, added a lot of drama and depth to the sky and the images. You just never know what you’re going to get hiking up in the dark when you can’t see! But whatever the weather, it will always be worth it and beautiful.
If you want to do your engagement session on a mountain, or elope on a mountain, definitely reach out to me here!
