Jamie and Nathan knew when they planned their hiking elopement in May that it would probably be cooler. Or at least that it had the potential to be! It was a beautiful morning for their sunrise hiking elopement on Wasootch, but it was cold! They were troopers as they braved the chilly mountain wind to say their vows and try to get their rings on…
We started the hike in the darkness, and some of their family also joined us. It’s a relatively short hike to this location, so it didn’t take us too long to reach our destination, just as the first light of day was gracing the horizon. The moon was visible, although not full. But it’s always interesting to have the moon present in the early morning sky, especially for snapping a few photos with. Jamie’s sister helped to get into her dress, and then they did a quick first look.
Their dog also came along, and she was so well behaved. They even had a little flower piece for her collar that matched Jamie’s bouquet! What a sweet little touch to add. As the sun started to brighten the sky, Jamie and Nathan exchanged vows and I do’s with their small group of witnesses, their pooch, and the beautiful snow dusted mountains behind. Besides the cold, it was a beautiful morning for a sunrise hiking elopement!
After the ceremony, we took some more photos while the sun came up. The family headed back down, and Jamie and Nathan, who are coffee connoisseurs, brewed up their custom “Wasootch” blend coffee with their jetboil. It was a perfect warm up break. We took a few more photos as we walked partly back down the mountain, before they changed and we hiked back to the parking lot.
