Anthony and Justine had a fall elopement in the Canadian Rockies at sunrise with Rockies Heli. It was such a fun morning, with lots of laughs, their best friend, a great helicopter pilot, and perfect light. If you’re not sure what to do about an officiant, or you can’t find someone available on your date, definitely consider bringing along a best friend. Anyone in Alberta can become a temporary officiant for a day, so it’s a great option. It’s super fun because they know lots about you and can incorporate fun things into your ceremony.
Just after the darkness started to fade the the first light of day appeared, we flew up to Lake of the Falls. It’s such a beautiful spot, with so many stunning mountain backdrops, lake, rocks, and more. The clouds had depth to them. The fresh dusting of snow on the slopes added another dimension to the scene. It was so beautiful. These two had their intimate ceremony on the edge of a cliff overlooking the lake below. They laughed and cried and everything in between. After they had exchanged rings and vows, Anthony said he had a secret to show Justine. He opened up his suit jacket, and there it was written, “Us vs. The Problems.” It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Anthony and Justine signed their official documents, using the side of the helicopter as a clipboard. The helicopter pilot and I signed as witnesses. Did you know you don’t need to bring anyone else to sign as witness for helicopter elopements because me and the pilot can sign? That’s also a cool thing about heli elopements. It was a chilly morning up there, but we walked around taking photos in all the beautiful spots. As you’ll notice in the photos, the helicopter pilot had some parkas for the couple to keep them warm. When they were wearing them, I told them to kiss! The pilot said it was a true eskimo kiss! So cute.
Maybe these photos will be your sign to start planning your fall helicopter elopement. You can always fill out the form here to get in touch!
