Have you ever heard of Fortress Mountain? It used to be a ski hill way back in Kananaskis. It is not currently in operation, but the coolest thing is, they actually do weddings up there! Did you know you can take a side by side or snow cat up to the ridge and have your wedding ceremony and photos up there? It’s a super cool alternative to either hiking or taking a helicopter. It was so fun to collaborate with them for this Fortress Mountain engagement session.

One of the coolest things about doing your engagement session or elopement at Fortress mountain is that there is no one else up there. You can’t even access the road without authorization from the owners, and there is a locked gate that they have to let you through. No one can just drive up there. So when you have an actual photo session or elopement booked with them, you will be the only ones up there. There are so many stunning backdrops and cool lookouts. You can see down the valley, the layers of mountains, and also be among spruce trees and in front of some massive rock faces. There is actually one mountain I have always seen from the hiway and wondered how to get to. Well, it’s accessible from up there.
