This couple was originally planning to do a helicopter elopement, but at the last minute some things didn’t work out. So they ended up just doing an intimate wedding ceremony at Abraham Lake. But I actually LOVE how these photos turned out. It was a perfect example of how great elopements are if you have to change plans on a whim. While the helicopter would have been perfect, this actually turned out perfectly too.
We met along the side of Abraham Lake, at an easily accessible spot. They set up a few chairs, as they had a handful of guests for the ceremony. The sun was shining and it was very windy, but that just added to the dramatic mood of the day. With the deep blue mountain lake in the background, and surrounded by the people closest to them, Ernst and Suzanne had their little intimate ceremony. We took a few family photos after and then headed to one of my favorite spots for some additional photos.
Preacher’s Point is one of my favorite places along Abraham Lake for photos. It is a popular camping spot, so can be busy some times. But even if its busy, there are places to go beyond the campers to some sweet views, mountain back drops, and grassy meadows. It’s a perfect spot for couples who like to frolic and have fun!
