When I first talked to Jessica and Brendan on zoom before they even booked me, I knew they would be amazing to work with. They wanted to get married at Emerald Lake Lodge with just their parents and a close friend or two. I had never photographed an elopement at Emerald Lake Lodge before but it had been on my radar so I was super excited when they booked me!
Emerald Lake Lodge is a little hidden gem just across into BC from Lake Louise. It’s nestled at the bottom of the most stunning peaks, and the colour of the lake is just that.. emerald. It’s a beautiful spot for an elopement, with trails, canoes and a beautiful waterfall nearby to go for photos!
I found Jessica and Brendan in their little cabins and hung out with them while they got ready for the ceremony. It was raining on and off during that time, and then right before the ceremony was supposed to start, it just started pouring. We figured we’d give it a few minutes and hope it died down. It didn’t. Finally Jessica said who cares, lets just do it. So out we went, armed with umbrellas and rain jackets. It rained for the entire ceremony until they were about to exchange rings. Then the sun popped out as if it was approving of their lifetime commitment.
We took photos at the viewpoint and then headed down to the natural bridge for some cool photos with the waterfalls. Then we took a stroll around the lake for a few more. I’m telling ya, if you book with me you’ll be getting your exercise too! Haha.
Have a look through this classy little elopement at Emerald Lake. If you want to plan your little wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge, check out this page where I’ve summarized some of the info.
