That’s exactly what Alexis and Mitch did for their helicopter elopement. They had a handful of family come up for the ceremony at the mountain top. I went with the couple in the first helicopter, and we took photos while we were waiting for the rest of the crew to arrive. After they had arrived, they had their ceremony and we did some family photos for a bit.

We were worried the helicopter may not be able to fly due to thunderstorms in the area, but luckily we still were able to go! We had the most perfect cloudy day, and the light was a photographer’s dream.

Alexis and Mitch chose to wait until all of their family had gone back down in the helicopter before saying their personal vows. They wanted this moment to be private. So Martha led us up to a higher point on the mountain. Mitch and Alexis did a rock-paper-scissors match to see who would say their vows first! One of my favorite things about elopements is the personal vows, because that’s often where the most emotion shows. It’s a great idea to consider!
