Canmore is always a go-to spot to plan your engagement session. It is literally nestled RIGHT in the heart of the mountains, with views of Mount Lady MacDonald, Ha Ling Peak, East End of Rundle, Heart Mountain and so many more. Driving 20 minutes to half an hour out of Canmore gets you even deeper into the mountains for stunning wilderness backdrops. If you ever need recommendations for easy access hikes/locations for your engagement session, I’d LOVE to give you some great ideas! Or even better, I’d love to TAKE YOU on some of them! I absolutely love adventuring with my couples and introducing them to my favorite places!
I met Tanner and Caitlin and their two dogs out at Quarry Lake, just outside of Canmore for their engagement session. (As I always say, it’s a fantastic idea to bring your pooches to your session. They add so much fun and a unique variety to your images!) They drove all the way from Red Deer area (worth it!) for this, and we had a perfect day. It was a cool morning, but the light was beautiful.
I always recommend that my couples wear flowy clothing, as it adds so much movement and interest to the images. I had brought a VERY flowy orange skirt with me, and Caitlin looked AMAZING in it. The wind picked up and added a perfect touch of movement to the session.
Most of my couples tell me that my sessions are a workout! Hey, that’s a good thing, especially when its cold. Right? Haha. Well I had Caitlin and Tanner doing lots of running, spinning, dancing, bumping hips and laughing, and they warmed right up! The movement, the mountain backdrops, the dogs, and the wind, made for the most perfect mountain images.
Scroll through these for a fun mountain morning.
