Are you engaged? Are you an avid outdoor adventurer and hiker, and are looking for some options for where to get married in the mountains? Well, you’re in luck! I’ve gathered some information on my favorite four mountain venues in the Canadian Rockies, so check them out below!
Mount Engadine Lodge
Mount Engadine Lodge is a beautiful little spot for intimate elopements. It is located about 40km south of Canmore. Nestled right in the heart of the Rockies, it’s one of my favorite spots. Kananaskis country is rugged, secluded, and the perfect spot for mountain lovers to get married. The bonus to getting married here, is that you could do a little hike for photos before or after your ceremony. There are endless options for photo opportunities in this area too, whether you’re an avid hiker or not! Mount Engadine Lodge is a remote location with no cell service, so makes a great spot for an elopement getaway.
Engadine Lodge offers a number of accommodation options for both the couple and guests! They have furnished cabins, rooms in the lodge, glamping tents, and yurts. All of these options look out over the most stunning mountain meadows and mountain peaks. There is something for the more adventurous, and something for those who like a little more comfort.

Emerald Lake Lodge
Emerald lake lodge is a beautiful mountain venue just past Lake Louise in Yoho National Park. This spot is very secluded and off the beaten path, but is an exceptional location for mountain folk! I’d recommend getting married there in the winter, if you can handle the cold. It looks like a little gingerbread house when it’s covered in layers of snow. There is a beautiful lake, a pretty little stream, and towering mountains all right there. Summertime is beautiful there too, as the lake is a pristine deep turquoise colour. You can even canoe in it!
Emerald Lake Lodge offers intimate elopement packages that include a stay in the lodge, the ceremony spot, flowers, and some meals for the couple. You can make your stay longer too, if you’d like a mountain getaway. If you get married at Emerald Lake, there are lots of other areas around there to get photos done too! Lake Louise and the Icefields parkway aren’t far and offer some stunning backdrops.
Banff Springs Hotel
Wanting a more luxurious mountain wedding? Banff Springs hotel is the venue for you! This venue is basically a castle, situated right in the middle of the most beautiful mountain scenery. It is very popular, and has many indoor ceremony and reception options. Check out this Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel page for more detailed information and pricing. They offer ceremony rooms with capacity anywhere from 60 to hundreds of guests. Since it is so close to the town of Banff, there are lots of amenities in the area. It is also close to many great mountain backdrops for photos! It’s a great choice for those with a little higher budget.
Pyramid Lake – Jasper
Last but not least, is Pyramid Lake in Jasper National Park. Pyramid Lake Resort is a great spot for a lakeside mountain getaway. There is a little island called Pyramid Island, that has its own permanent ceremony spot you can book. The ceremony location backs onto the lake and is perfect for up to 30 guests or so. It is super close to the town of Jasper as well, so you can explore neat shops and other lakes and waterfalls in the area. There are definitely lots of things to do for your wedding week or honeymoon!
